ADMISSIONS STATEMENT AND REFErral
At Moorfield Learning Centre, we are committed to providing a safe, positive, and structured environment where young people can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. All children are entitled to a Full-Time Equivalent Education, and we work in partnership with Local Authorities to ensure that young people who may find mainstream school challenging, those affected by EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), and CME (Children Missing from Education) receive the support they need to fulfil their statutory entitlement.
Admission to the School
Admission to Moorfield Learning Centre is carried out in liaison with the Local Authority and other relevant professionals. We offer full-time places, and learners become part of our school community.
Parents who believe their child would benefit from this provision can contact the school for further information. Additionally, they should contact the Local Authority SEND team and the young person's current educational setting, if applicable.
Admission to the Outreach Centres
We also offer part-time places through our outreach programme for secondary and primary aged learners. Headteachers and SENCOs from schools collaborate with our team to determine the most appropriate provision for each young person. We actively involve families throughout the referral and assessment process.
Current settings are asked to complete a referral form for the young person and, from receipt of this, we aim to start the placement within five days. A risk assessment will be requested from the young person's current educational provision.
